The Gamer Fix

Picture

Left Hand Grip Pressure

Prevents ball from going left

When you find yourself constantly hitting the ball left whether it be a pull or a hook, apply more pressure with your left hand.

This technique allows the club face to stay open longer through impact thus resulting in the ball flying straighter.

Right Hand Grip Pressure

Prevents ball from going right

When you find yourself constantly hitting the ball right
whether it be a push or a slice, apply more pressure with your right hand.

This technique allows the club face to close faster through impact thus resulting in the ball flying straighter.

Overall Grip Pressure

Controls centeredness of contact

When you find yourself constantly hitting the ball thin/fat, bring your attention back to your grip pressure. This is the most efficient way to control how the club interacts with the surface.

The technique allows the club to get to the ground, and also bounce off the ground, creating shots that are more in the center of the face.

Ball Position Laws

When the ball position is too far forward in your stance, you will notice that your misses will typically be pulls. This is because the club face has too much time to close on the downswing.

If the ball is too far back you will notice that your misses will typically be pushes. This is because the club face doesn't have enough time to close on the downswing.

Alignment

Alignment is always one that is messed. Always bring yourself back to your driving range setup and feeling confident in where you are aligned. This is monumental in hitting consistent golf shots.

Full-Turn

Prevents an all arms swing which produces unwanted ball spin.

Take a couple practice swings where you are exaggerating your full turn. Not making a full turn causes your golf swing to be "armsy" and this is the main cause of hitting big slices and hooks.

Watch The Ball Being Hit

I don't care what anybody says when it comes to the concept of keeping your head down or watching the golf ball. Whenever you are in a funk and are looking for an adjustment, just focus on keeping your head down until you see the golf ball being hit and then let your momentum bring your head up naturally.

This technique specializes in keeping you committed in the golf shot through impact.

Intermediate Target

When you are out on the course and your accuracy seems to be all over the place, bring your attention back to your intermediate target right before you start your swing.

Really pick a spot and commit to it and then from there you make your swing and live with the results.

Trajectory (Driver)

Too high: miss right
Too low: miss left

Driver trajectory has the ability to tell you a lot about your golf shots. You will begin to notice that it is almost impossible to miss driver high left and low right.

With that being said, you will also notice that most of your right misses are going to be significantly higher than your left misses. Also with the inverse of that, your left misses will most always be lower than your right misses.

If you are consistently missing low left off the tee, try and raise your ball flight to straighten out your drives and vice versa.

Ask yourself?

Ask yourself if you are in the present. Many times, the reason that we are not playing well is because we are not in the present. We are either stuck on the hole we just played or holes that are coming up in the future.
Picture

Clubface Alignment

open at address: slice/push
closed at address: hook/pull

This is an additional alignment check. Your feet and shoulders may be lined up to your target but your club face be either open or closed at address.

This is going to change the club at impact making it harder to be consistent with your ball striking.

Big Slice/Big Hook

Slice: Swing right
Hook: Swing left

If you are hitting a huge slice and you just can't figure it out, try aiming right and swinging right while trying to get the club face back to square at impact. This is going to reduce the amount of slice spin that you put on the ball.

Perform the inverse if you are hitting a hook.
