What exactly is flow?
Flow happens as a result when the challenge meets the skillet. When the level of challenge is high and you possess the necessary skills you feel excitement and entering the state of flow during the work will occur organically.

With that being said, high skill and low-level challenge will result in boredom whereas low-skills and a high-level challenge will result in anxiety. both of these states are highly undesired.
In my own experience, I get in the state of flow the most efficiently when I am simply focusing on the process. I understand that there is nothing that I can do to manipulate my score at this point in time and that executing my routine EVERY TIME is the most important to be playing my best golf.
CRUCIALLY IMPORTANT MINDSET:
You need to convince yourself that you will get in a state of flow every time you tee it up.
In order to consistently get into a state of flow, you must first be able to accomplish these tasks. You should be practicing these every waking minute you are awake thus making it second nature when you get the opportunity to tee it up.

Thoughts -- Only allow thoughts to enter your brain that are proven to be beneficial
Routine -- Consistency is key
Breathing -- Slow your breath, slow your heart rate, release tensions
Commitment -- Prepared to hit golf shot regardless of result
Acceptance -- (of golf shots) -- good or bad (of uncontrollables) -- conditions/bad breaks

When you are flowing, you become the channel for good golf shots, not the source.
